Fantastic $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

After a brief run earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned for a limited time available through early December. Hailed as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" created by ProFantasy Software throughout their history, the entire collection is valued at over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

The Main Attraction

The standout feature is certainly permanent access for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard mapping application which enables users to generate various types including epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and most notably, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

Bundle Tiers

Entry Level

The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, features merely four from the thirty-nine available products: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, Urban Source Maps. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen aerial castle designs including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-product collection for at least $15 is where things get more interesting by adding in permanent CC3+ access, the first Annual volume, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from ProFantasy's long-running monthly subscription service featuring multiple CC3+ enhancements like map collections and additional utilities. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from multiple angles. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page suitable for novices and experts, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.

All 17 volumes from the Annual series are included here, plus numerous other resource and asset packs enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or focus exclusively on classic fantasy realm creation: battle maps, dungeons, cities, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. Users can also create character portraits. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, particularly for mappers with temporary CC3+ access seeking permanent licensing. But it's obviously an even better deal for map-making newbies since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The one caveat here is that while you can redeem the deal across platforms, the applications only function on Windows.

Charitable Component

Similar to previous bundles, part of every purchase goes to benefit a nonprofit. In this instance, the beneficiary is Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 focused on improving the lives of children worldwide via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response.
