'Sweet game'
The prosecutor, prosecuting, described the criminal behavior to the court.
She stated his targets were under-privileged children who were attending a summer program which he operated.

She stated to the judge the defendant had engaged in this activity with the children "repeatedly", and youngsters had previously fallen ill the following morning.
She said the defendant had been able to explain this over a long period as the minors being "overstimulated by activities", until his family member had concerns in July 2025.
The prosecutor continued: "Recently" his family member had worries about what was going on, justifiably.
"They chose" to examine in the defendant's belongings."

She said Ruben went on to engage in the "candy game" with six youngsters that evening - Saturday 26 July - and they were everyone unwell the next day.
"Authorities" had not responded by that stage," she continued.
The regulatory agency, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, earlier informed that it was reviewing law enforcement's management of the incident.
The prosecutor stated the children were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so the stepson contacted the police once more.
