Nearly 25,000 households in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, generating wind gusts hitting 109km/h.

Homeowners reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Utility workers were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the extensive power failures.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled over five hundred emergency reports across the area, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent storm activity expected across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after past events where comparable situations led to significant health impacts in the state.
