19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since March of 2023.

Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on court had led some to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a final set.

The opponent rescued 4 initial opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
